MISSION
Our mission at John Locke University is to offer these people the means
to reach the formal qualifications they need to progress in life thanks
to distance learning programs that do not bind these frequently mature
students and busy professionals
to a school desk. We also highly consider the candidates’ professional
experiences. They may have nevertheless acquired an extensive education
through life experiences thus becoming professionals in their respective
fields. What limits the growth potential of these individuals is the
lack of formal educational credentials with considerable consequences
on their personal image.
Although John Locke University's Distance Learning Degree Programs,
are different then programs available in traditional educational institutions,
we are convinced of their value and acceptance worldwide. Non-traditional
programs are important because they recognize experience made in the
real world instead of classroom study.
John Locke University is accredited by private accreditation agencies which are not regulated or approved by the US Department of Education. John Locke University is not accredited by an United States Secretary of Education recognized accrediting agency.
Accreditation is a voluntary process and does not guarantee quality
education. It only means that an institution has agreed conform to the
rules established by that particular accrediting agency, rules that
not always represent the best interest for the students. John Locke
University Distance Learning Programs has been designed to best fit
the adult professionals’ needs. We have chosen private and independent
accreditation that, while not relating to any Governmental Branch, still
requires the highest standards of quality. We have chosen to maintain
independence and freedom in developing academic programs, as we believe
they fit our students’ skills and competencies. We specialize
in distance adult education, in addition to crediting professional experience
in the field of their competences. This may be a determining factor
for those individuals interested in pursuing certain disciplines requiring
State licensing, (such as law, teaching, or medicine). It is recommended
that you consider the importance of National Accreditation for your
specific field or profession and make your decision accordingly.
John Locke University is incorporated as an LLC in the state of Delaware.
